I don't know how to remove these, if that would help. One thing I notice is that even after uninstalling Chrome (which had become practically impossible to use), I still see some references to Chrome as a user login item and internet plug-in.
Posted below is my EtreCheck summary and also a snapshot of a SmartUtility run tonight, which indicates the hard drive problem. Occasionally also seeing this slowness with iPhoto, or when moving photos to an email, etc. I tested DNS with name bench and changed to the fastest servers. My ethernet connection is reasonably fast, 29 ms ping + 6mbps down + 2mbps up. I know there is a problem with a sector of my hard drive, this is an old story the slow web page loading and rotating beach ball are new.
